The pause left existing market activity open. The official wording separates listing new items from existing market activity: players could still cancel existing listings and buy items that other users had already listed.
What changed on June 8
The official temporary closure time was June 8, 2026 at 12:00 AM PDT, 4:00 PM KST, and 8:00 AM BST. After the update, players on older versions could still open the Trade Ship screen, but trying to load items there would produce an error, so the team recommended updating to the latest version.

A June 11 follow-up tied the reopening plan to the server migration update. In that notice, the team said it would reopen the market after confirming server stability, and described planned market limits including 4 listing slots and an 8 hours per slot interval for new listings.
The same follow-up also said the update would cross-check items against Steam item registration data and delete items identified as abnormally generated or invalid.
